Other sources of copper include any corrosion from piping and heat exchangers. Copper is normally not a concern but with pools the level can build up as water is evaporated and replaced. High levels of copper are undesirable in swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas, as it can stain bathing suits, hair, and other surfaces green. It can also cause the water to have an undesirable color when high levels of chlorine are present.
