In
certain regions Copper can be found naturally in groundwater. Copper
can also found in small amounts in the drinking water supplied by a
municipality. Other sources of copper include any corrosion from
piping and heat exchangers. Copper is normally not a concern but with
pools the level can build up as water is evaporated and replaced. High
levels of copper are undesirable in swimming pools, hot tubs, and
spas, as it can stain bathing suits, hair, and other surfaces green.
It can also cause the water to have an undesirable color when high
levels of chlorine are present.
HI-7024
Pool Line Checker Handheld Colorimeter is designed for the measurement
of copper in swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas. The contoured style
of the Checker fits in your palm and pocket perfectly and the large
LCD is easy to read. The auto shut-off feature assures the battery
life will not be drained if you forget to turn it off.
To
perform a measurement with the instrument a water sample is placed
into a cuvette and the meter is zeroed. Next, a reagent is added that
will react with the copper in the water sample. Last, place the vial
into the Checker, press the button and read the results. It’s that
easy.
