The IEC 'Free Fall' apparatus comes in several forms. This one is 1.5m high and uses a SOLENOID release for the STEEL ball and 2 STEEL balls of different sizes are used. The upper platform is adjustable for position on the 1.5m vertical rail so that experiments can be performed at different falling distances. An electronic timer is connected to the upper and lower platforms to obtain a signal as the ball begins to fall and another when the ball hits the lower platform. In this model, the digital Timer LB4064-101 must be used because only this timer can provide the power for the solenoid which automatically releases the ball when timing is started by the Timer. When the Timer 'Start' button is pressed, the ball falls and stops the timer the instant it strikes the lower platform. The timer displays the time to 0.1mS. All connection cables and plugs are supplied in the kit. IN THIS MODEL THE TIMER LB4064-101 IS INCLUDED.
