Bromophenol Blue Solution, 500ml

Bromophenol Blue, a chemical used as a pH indicator and a tracking dye in gel electrophoresis. As an acid-base indicator, it changes from yellow to blue as the pH increases from 3.0 to 4.6, while as a tracking dye, it helps visualize the movement of DNA, RNA, and proteins through a gel.  

Applications

• pH indicator: 

  Acts as a pH indicator, with a color change from yellow at pH 3.0 to blue at pH 4.6. 

• Tracking dye: 

  Used in gel electrophoresis to track the progress of molecules as they move through the gel. 

• Biological stain: 

  Can be used as a stain for proteins and nucleic acids in biological applications.
