The IEC "Demonstration Gates" trainer is a fun to use method of learning the functions of electronic digital GATES. An overlay is fitted to the panel and the panel is held up facing the class. Student are asked to predict the outcome of input combinations on the output of the gate. The teacher manipulates slide switches on the rear side of the panel to make the gates work and LEDs show through the overlay to indicate the results to the students. The overlay used and the expected result and LEDs are visible also to the teacher to avoid embarrassments. If placed into the students' hands, they can test one another until the function of all the types of GATES is fully understood.
