The very simple 'Helical Steel Spring Kit' consists of a 1kg and 0.5kg plated steel mass together with a suitable coil spring with an 'eye' each end. By supporting the spring on a retort stand and applying the masses single or together, Hooke's law can be explored and proven. Measurements must be performed by rule or tape measure. For most accurate results, the masses should be weighed to check their mass.
